Wool, Leather, Cashmere, and Beauty

....Winter is here and as much I may loathe it, I do often find myself immersed in the enchanting looks we can put together only during this time of year. Layering to me is like heaven. I do this all year round but with colder temperatures you can dive right into this coming out looking like a boho glam goddess. The piece that I would love to show you at this time is the icing on the cake. Your overcoat. So we're going to start from the outside going in during this blog series on how to layer yourself so you will just ravish all your onlookers!

All of these coats can be purchased at the mega fab, online shopping site, www.net-a-porter.com. Unfortunately I have extremely expensive taste, making not even one of these coats affordable to most. You just have to look at the design and what you would like to pull from each and go out there and try to find a look similar to what you've imagined in your head, drawn in your sketchbook, or saw on this very page.....but at a fraction of the price. Modcloth.com is drop dead for fabulous coats under $100! So is Target (hit or miss. you just have to go everyweek), H&M, and Forever21 who also carries plus sizes too now! J. Crew and Anthropologie have gorgeous varieties but you will be looking at around $300 give or take. Also check for sales around and especially after Christmas. I actually got my Theory knee length puffer, that I never take off, at Saks at this exact time during their 40% off sale, which actually began online today! As for that, if you do want to invest, it's definitely worth it. Hit up the sales (if they do not have your size no worries because a wonderful sales stylist will find it at another store and will ship it to you for free), and the outlets like Off Saks and the Nordstrom Rack. Other great lines to check out for coats that I have found to love are Rebecca Taylor, Leifsdottir, Milly, Theory, Elie Tahari, and Mcginn to name a few. Oh and Rachel Roy has a completely adorb line at Macy's. Check her out too. Those listed above are more of an investment but they will last you for years and years.

Burberry Prorsum-Wool Crepe Coat. (impeccable!)

Moschino Cheap and Chic-Ruffled Wool and Cashmere-blend Coat. (ruffles!)
Preen Line-Knife Faux Leather-sleeved Wool-blend Coat (too cool!)

Roland Mouret-Textured Wool and Silk coat (soo chic)

Helmut Lang-HELMUT Nitro Asymmetric Quilted Coat (PERFECT puff coat)
Alexander McQueen-Wool-Felt Coat (DARLING. to die!)

Emilio Pucci-Houndstooth Crystal-embellished Chiffon Coat (I'm speechless!)
Rag & Bone-Biker Wool and Leather Coat (statement piece!)

Red Valentino-A-Line Quilted Coat (another PERFECT puffer!)

The Row-Nesjen Leather Coat (a must have!)

And finishing it off, this is what I call a timeless, absolutely stunningly gorgeous, piece of art.
Dolce & Gabana-Wool-blend Felt Cape-style Coat (I'd go into debt for this. No question!)

Put A Nail On It

Fall has arrived and although most of the great fashionistas started wearing the hot, new, in colors for fall for a while now.... it's about time you do too! I will take you through the greatest polish colors that you need for F/W 2012.

As we know this fall is all about the Burgundy/Wine color from the headbands we put on our heads to the polish we put on our little nails. Another must have polish color for fall 2012 is my favorite color, Navy. Let's begin with these two.

This color is OPI and called 'We'll Always Have Paris'. It is the absolute to die color you want on your nails and the best color I found to fit this trend out of the hundreds I looked at. One problem. I bought this color about 2 years ago when the OPI Paris collection came out. Whether you can still purchase it, I don't know but don't worry I have a backup for you just in case.

This is MAC's 'Vintage Vamp' which is a gorgeous alternative and just a must have in your nail polish color collection no matter what.

Ahh soo pretty! I just got this one the other day and it is stunning. So when I heard Navy nails were going to be all the rage, I immediately began looking for a great navy polish. Not one polish from any collection met my expectations until I found 'Royal Navy' by Butter London. (I was going to return to one of my all time favs, Russian Navy, but this fits the season much better.

Bengate by Dior for F/W 2012. I usually don't do browns (I just usually never find them attractive), but this color changed my mind.

Zoya's 'Snow White'. Now I know this was a huge trend of the summer but I just love the glamorous look of white nails so I think this should be carried into F/W and further. Classic.

Love! And it's perfect for you that don't love to wear dark nails all the time. This flawless color is Butter's 'Yummy Mummy'. Although this color is very in for Fall it is also a classic that can be worn for years to come!

I have a huge thing for dark green polishes and this one fulfills my every need. It's also metallic which also screams fall and makes it one of my must have polish's.

The polishes listed above are just the colors that are being known and in for Falk/Winter 2012. If you have to pic one definetly go for the OPI 'We'll Always Have Paris". It's definetly going to be your go to color. Oh and if you read my "Like Never" piece you can go ahead now and through all your pastel, Easter egg looking colors in the trash now. Thank you.

Oh wait, there is one more color that you can NEVER go wrong with whatever the year or season. If ever in doubt, throw this color on for an instant chic look.
Chanel 'Black Satin' of course!

Delicious DIOR

Delicious DIOR: Lately I have had a wild passionate obsession for John Galliano footwear and John Galliano's exquisite line of stilettos that he designs as the Creative Director for the Haus of Christian Dior. Superior lines, shapes, height, and color, all add to the joy when you see them in the window shop of a store you don't dare do into or when you decide to splurge and spend a little/lot on a well deserved gift for you just being you! Enjoy...Dior!

So when I 1st discovered these while styling a piece that was a little bland and needed the "it" factor that would pop, I immediately remembered seeing this collection of crazy gorgeous stilettos on a fellow fashion blog and pretty much found every pair in the collection. These are part of Dior's S/S 2009 collection and part S/S Tribal Resort Collection 2009. Do you love?!
.....For a treat I'll show you a few more of John Galliano's works of art from this past S/S Ready to Wear. BREATHE.......

The take your breath away, sumptuous pair above are actually this season-F/W Collection 2011 for Dior.

OMFG are they not the creations of a genius!!! John Galliano for Christian Dior are officially my favorite collection. Gorgeous season to season! Hope you enjoyed the show and discover your favorite collection by exploring your favorite designers and style. I believe Carrie Bradshaw would be thrilled with my choice.

All Pressed Up In Black and White

I haven't done a fun post about style in a while and I feel like I'm hiding all these wonderful new fashion secrets and finds from you guys! Sorry about that. I guess it's time we have a talk.

Although I don't know what the hell I want to talk about on this blog anymore, and #tbt, I sure as hell really haven't felt like writing absolutely anything anymore. I just don't care. I think it's probably cause for once in my life I'm actually dealing and facing all the unimaginable and significant changes in my life. I used writing as an outlet, which is completely normal in most circumstances but its time for a change. My life was always pretty crazy but it took a turn, which is now filled with what doesn't even feel like its usual dramatics anymore but more like my own 'sad beautiful tragic' lifetime movie. A movie a do not want to be the star of. So for once I'm actually keeping things much more private. Very unlike me but I just have to. As of today I'm standing my own ground. Maybe not speaking about my life so openly as I used to will turn out the way to go. Will my life change in the way it's soo freaking crazy? Probably not but that might be for the best. #TBT I really don't know anything different but I would like to not have to receive another phonecall for at least 20-30 yrs. telling me something drastic (as in death) has happened.

**SIDE NOTE: I'm just using those #tbt's to be super obnoxious because I always see them all over twitter and instagram and its drives me crazy haha. Don't worry I'll never use hashtag tbt (truth be told I finally figured out) ever again!

So yeah that's that so from here forward I will try to write more but I can't promise that. When something really really fucked up happens I think you realize that those memories are yours and you don't have to tell them to anyone if you don't wish. So this time around I'm keeping a lot more things inside my heart just for me to know and for me to enjoy and for me to cry about. To make this really simple I could just say I've changed and as much as I'd like my innocence back and my ignorance.....well unfortunately they're dead and gone.

Ahh soo excited now to write about something so fun and everything I love in a category that's so uplifting and just fun. No real importance to it but just to make you and me smile!

Lets start with hair! Majorly rocking the side part that was kicking ass on tons if runways for this Spring. I'm into a messy piecey part instead of just a straight part. Unless I'm doing a ponytail with a part. For that I like to keep it very straight and very dramatically sided. Also doing a lot of loose beach waves and love love love to do the old Hollywood curls with all hair down and to one side like the photo below of Kristen Stewart. Most of the time though I just put my hair up. I don't think there is anything more beautifully sophisticated and womanly that a perfectly sleeked back pony tail or a high top knot/bun. I've mastered my top knot down to where I can probably perfect one in my sleep. Lots of dry shampoo, teasing, and a couple of my favorite large hair pins by Bunheads. Sold at most dance wear stores near you!

Fashion wise, I'm having a lot of fun with combining classic and trendy pieces. Some of my true loves right now include: shorts (lace, leather, satin, sweater, tweed, denim, you name it I most likely own them haha), mini skirts (favorite being my new Haute Hippie Black Bandage skirt. You just can't go wrong with this and it makes my ass just pop in all the right places! And of course my skin tight satin mini with a black exposed zipper down back by Elizabeth & James), circle skirts(those are my must right now), high waisted jeans (favs are by Prairie Underground, a little line out of Seattle), and type of mini dress. I'm all about my curves right now so my wardrobe got a teeny bit slutty haha. Actually in comparison to others I'm gonna take that back and say its still just a little more fun. Lots of legs, butt, and breasts! A few lines that I have found myself repeatedly purchasing from are Free People, Theory, Haute Hippie, and 1 piece from Isabel Marant who is one of my new favorite designers that I definitely cannot afford but splurged on a long sleeve cotton mini dress during the Nordstrom Semi Annual. No regrets! My favorite circle skirt I found at Forever XXI for $15.50. That store is a pain in the ass but when you find little lives like this it makes it all worth it :) Oh and I'm adoring super flared/bell bottoms. High end favorite lines are still basically the same. Love trying to replicate looks from Celine, Givenchy, Rodarte, Lanvin, & Balmain. Replicate is the key word here seeing that I don't have an extra $3,000 for a top!

loves

Shoes and leg wear. Nothing too new that I am in love with. I do love the wedge sneakers currently. Soo fun but they are also just a trend so don't splurge but rather conserve on this look. I splurged on Ash 'Bowie' Black Sneaks. But it was love at 1st sight so no regrets again. I love my lace up little shoe stilettos??? I don't really know how to describe them so I'll post a photo! Other than that I still live in flat boots, very simple and feminine stilettos( the higher the better), and my converse sneakers. Free People over the knee socks are freaking soo fun and amazing......actually ALL of their socks are. I also have these mid calf sheer gray ruffled ones. Soo cool. Ripped black tights, plain black Opaque Tights, Fishnets and Lacy looks, and anything by Jonathan Ashton. Black tights are the key to almost everything. I guess nothings really changed!

I always have an addiction. Last Fall/Winter it was nail polish, this summer it was candles and right now it's sunglasses. I just can't seem to help myself. But I think I've loaded up on enough designer shades to last me a long time and hopefully this addiction ends in a timely fashion because its costing me much more than a bottle of Dior vernis.

Makeup wise I'm still totally into products by Make Up Forever, NARS, YSL, and Laura Mercier. My favorite look right now is practicing a really contoured and highlighted facial structure like Kim K. Rocks out. Obviously I don't have it down pat yet but it's soo fun and just a new look. Great products to do this include palettes by Make Up Forever's Sculpting Kit and Tom Ford's Shade and Illuminate. You can also achieve this is many many various forms where you don't need a bit particularly but just a great matte bronzer and either powers or liquid bases in shades 2 darker and 2 lighter than your natural color then you blend like a crazy person until you look like a thin nosed, high cheek bone, amazingly high brow bone goddess! Haha! Below is my favorite video I've found to teach you how to do this. Also musts are NARS Kabuki Artisan Yachiyo #27 brush.....crazy name, I know! And the NARS Ita Kabuki #28 brush. They're super pricey so try to find them elsewhere such as eBay but make sure that they are Authentic!!! Yes, they do make fake replica high end brushes and I accidentally bought one once. Eww! As for nails....I'm still doing my Matte. Everything I cover with my Chanel LE Mat Top Coat. Really into either a really drastic nude or black. Those two colors are pretty much all I wear at the moment. Wire headbands! Super fun. They have really great ones at your local Free People store. I love it in there if you can't tell. And as for jewelry....umm nothing really stands out that I need to mention on here. Loving these matte neon bangles by Alexis Bittar you can grab at any higher end Department Store. You can always find great costume pieces at BCBG Max Azria, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, and J. Crew.

And that's a wrap! Have fun with the new looks for now and spring. And always rock out your own look. Personal style is how you express yourself to the world and you can do whatever your little heart desires <3 em="">

PEACE & LOVE
