Yeah, I Always Find Somethin' Wrong

......and So did I Kanye, so did I. So finally we get to talk about what Kanye likes to call his debut as a "Movie Director" ehh em. I once had soo much to say on this short film but now I cannot fathom wasting my breathe on someone who doesn't appreciate others as much as he appreciates and is in love with himself. Don't get me wrong at all, I do think a lot of Kanye's work is absolute genius. Especially this track "Runaway". But when you can't say anything good about others because you are too worried about you always being on top, is something that I can not put up with. So here it is........I watched the whole hour long "Movie" and 45 minutes worth of the interview afterwards. In the beginning of the interview i was actually starting to believe that maybe his time off did him some good and his "I am God" level had calmed down but at one point he said a few things that turned it all back around and there he was, this insecure man with very low self esteem. When asked who he thought was at a very high point in their hip hop career and was growing as an artist, he did not point anyone out but himself. "No one can touch me. I'm making movies now." And that's when I got off the live viewing on MTV.com.

As for the small film in which he said and compared it to "some Michael Jackson shit"......well it was far from and please not to all artists: MJ was a legend, the King of Pop, the main reason why Music Videos are what they are today(Thriller anyone?). No one can touch him and do not compare yourself to him because you will come off as looking foolish. The short film, which I believe ran 35 minutes, I did not find impressive, creatively extensive, or well cast. This is the only clip where I do believe he speaks truth in what he says in the last minute. I have really begun to feel this way as well and what he says about "selling himself to the devil" and what it means to him. It's something that i will always refer to now because I love the way he developed this saying into something so meaningful to yourself and your dreams. Watch.

Speaking of the Phoenix character, Kanye decided to cast the exquisitely beautiful Selita Ebanks. In the beginning when she is found on the road I believe she was perfectly cast. Very tall, very thin, and lanky.....just like a bird. Until hahahaha omgosh I die when I see her stand up because she's soo gorgeous and she has the HUGE fake breasts which look ridiculous on her teeny tiny figure. I just did some research and she is the 1st Victoria's Secret model to ever be hired by them with fake breasts. That disappointed me to read that because I always like to think all those VS girls are all from Brazil and are just that fabulous. Well they all are but now there is a fake in there and I just don't think that should be allowed. According to every article I have found of her and read she originally had A cups which I am sure looked way more better on that skinny body. So that's one of the parts I think was miscasted. But I'm not going to focus on this character who's acting at the end with Kanye in a conversation about turning to stone and Kanye begs her to stay and they kiss and then the film gets dark but you see them having sex. That bugged me too. Kanye why are you having sex with a Phoenix? She probably scratched the hell out of you! haha. Moving on to what really mattered in this "movie"......The 10 minute long version of the track "Runaway".

This was absolutely gorgeous and filmed in Prague in this huge warehouse it looks like with the spectacular green wall you keep seeing in promo photos. The piece lasted from 13:50 until 23:08. I am a huge fan of the song and what it says and of course being a former ballerina didn't hurt either when I 1st saw it in performance. The casting of the ballerinas was horrific. Three en point and the rest on flat. Not attractive. If you've ever been a ballet dancer or studied the art you know that you DO NOT perform on flat past the age of pretty much 12. Watch the Corps de Ballet only, when you watch it through maybe on your 2nd or 3rd time through. They do not fit in the piece. There are 3 soloists, and I hate to say this, but even they are not perfectly cast either. Half of the Corps was dancing contemp ballet while the rest was purely classical. The had a sequence where they posed on the beats of the chorus of "Runaway" and half would be turned in, feet not pointed, bent knees; it was just not good to watch. The choreography was very basic. Positions and movements you learn in the very beginning stages of study. If I saw one more girl do another releve devlope I was going to die, but that's ALL the girls did. Horrendous! Just horrendous! Kanye, I know you wanted this to be perfect and if you have such a "strong passion for classical dance" then you should have cast the girls better. Period. I was expecting girls from SAB or NYCB.(even though I know sab and nycb contracts do not allow apperiences in music videos.) But no. And although I was upset with the dancing, there are the two beautiful touching moments. When the girls run on stage and when the girls run off. Very Swan Lake. And of course I had a predilection for the straight out classic Tutu's the ballerina's adorned.

Now I've written to much on the subject and person I said I wasn't going to take to much time on because he already feels he is a deity. Now I will end by saying Congrats on getting Phillip Lim to do your costume design. Hire a lead that if she is going to be naked for 35 minutes that her breasts move like normal birds/humans do. Take an acting class. And just come down a little from the high high cloud you are sitting on because you could fall through one day and find yourself sitting on the level ground with the rest of us. Humility Kanye, is key.

P.S. If you didn't know this I would just like to share it with you very fast. 2 of Kanyes great musical influences are Radiohead and NIN. I think Trent Reznor would kick your ass for even saying that.
Thoughts on the film? Feel free to speak your peace.

And Who am I? That's One secret I'll never tell.....XOXO

*Above-Dress by Marchesa

Gossip Girl is back and ready for another dramatic season. Don't worry no secrets will be told for I am still catching up on my final disc of season 3. With season 4 just beginning, I wonder what kind of fashion crusade they will send at us this year? Since the 1st episode of season one with flashbacks of the "it" girls sitting on the steps of The Met eating their yogurt before class, completely dolled up from head to toe in designer goods and the "it" bag of the moment, Gossip Girl has basically taken over in the fashion glory that once belongs to SATC. (nothing can come near Carrie but you get my drift.) Let's go over a few looks, and no I do not do 'looks for less' because everyone knows nothing really fits or feels like the real thing so why bother trying. Who are your best dressed from the show? Are you an S or a B fan? A Chuck or a Nate lover? Really NO ONE can compete with eachother considering they all have BEAUTIFUL pieces to fit their character and the FABULOUS stylist, Eric Daman, helping them key button some of the beautiful vintage pieces you've been seeing. My true fashion love is Blair Waldorf.(I bet a lot of you would have guess Serena but nope....I am all about the puffy sleeves, lace, decadent fabrics, and loads and loads of ruffles. All of which Miss B does best! LEARN it and LOVE it people!

* My absolute favorite dress worn by Blair....EVER. Its from her 17th Birthday in Season 1. Dress by Valentino.

Blair Waldorf is played by actress Leighton Meester and she is my personal favorite fashionista on the show. Blair dresses unlike any other and wear top of the line signature couture pieces that she is basically given by, due to her mothers business, or with one of her 10 black cards she owns. 1st dress that I had a meltdown over was Blair's 17th Birthday Party dress from Season 2. *Pictured Above

The character of Blair Waldorf is always completely polished from head to toe, as she had magically stepped out of Bergdorf Goodman window. *Above dressed in the Marc Jacob's Dita Lace Dress

*Above-Blair at the ball in Marchesa(obviously). Definitely one of my top 5 Blair looks.

Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Who doesn't fall in love with this dress for Plilosophy by Alberta Ferretti.

* Photographed above in a dress by CC California and tights by Woldford in Mystic Lace.

Let's do a toast to the absolute FABULOUS couple, known as Chuck and Blair, in all their evilness and all there millions by millions worth wardrobes. The really do make the show!

Where's Mr.Chuck, Miss B? As Dorota would say. *Above in dress by Colette Dinnigan. Gorgeous just absolutely gorgeous.

* Dressed above in a ruched ruffle mini dress by Tori Burch and tights by Woldford.

*Dress avove by 3.1 Phillip Lim in the Grecian Glamor Dress
So ladies there you have it. THE fashion icon to follow. With great sofistication, classic pieces, feminity, with a touch of ruffles, lace, and chiffon, Blair does it all right. Coming up soon.....The Rockeress Jenny Humpfry.

I Can't Get No Satisfaction Baby

Less than four days until the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. In honor of my favorite award show of the year due to it's insanity, hot mess fashion, raunchy performances, and just the great celebrations of music and those who make me smile everyday; We are going to do a 5 day VMA write up on the VMA past, future, and more! Let's begin with a girl who is a VMA legend. Miss Britney Jean Spears. Since the year of 1999, Brit has been making us stare in awe of her amazing talent, beauty, and legendary performances.

It's quite hard to pick out an absolute favorite VMA performance of Britney because each one is on it's own different level of thrill and brilliance. Because of that I have decided that we will do a run through of her five, to die for, live performances!

In 1998 Britney Spears was just a little 17 year old with a few #1 hits. But she strut the stage like a 45 year old veteran with the power and confidence of no other. She wore a Versace two piece and long blonde hair extensions and did a remix of her infamous hit, Baby One More Time. The choreography, the set, the energy, were all perfect. You couldn't take your eyes off of her. A superstar was born that night,

The following year, in September of 2000, Spears took her performance and perfectionism to a whole new level. This performance actually I can truly say, is one of the best performances I have ever seen from any performer. Absolutely insane. She donned a nude push up bra and low rise bottoms with jewels sporadically placed all over. Her body was just sick. Fucking sick! But her performance was the sickest, letting everyone know she was here to stay and was there to be crowned the new Pop Queen, Ands she was, she really was. This act started with a striptease to "I can't Get No Satisfaction", into a miraculous rendition of "Oops....I Did it Again".

The girl just didn't quit and in 2001, Britney Spears was now a well known household name and the pop princess of the world. With her 3rd album "Britney" being released soon, she gave us the 1st listen to her new single with what is probably the most well known VMA performance of all time. "I'm a Slave 4 U", was performed with such electricity, not a soul that was watching that night could even blink. That's how much control she had over the audience with her appearances by now. The costume is the well known green push up halter with teeny shorts/ripped jeweled skirt, and nude knee high flat boots. Tigers, and snakes were thrown about the stage along with about 20 phenomenal back up dancers. With choreography done by Wade Robinson, this piece was a 4 minute masterpiece of dancing at it's finest. And once again, Britney showing us just how ridiculously fabulous she was.
In 2003, Britney Spears, along with Madonna and Christina Aguilera, made the most shocking VMA performance in history. Starting off with Britney and Christina singing "Like a Virgin", dressed in staple raunchy 80's style bridal get ups, they moaned and groaned and made sure everyone knew something very incredible was going to go on. Shortly after their arrival on stage, the Pop Queen herself, Madonna rose onto the top of the stairs and began singing "Hollywood" dressed in a tight blacktop and pants. The three pop stars sang and danced and then made history by Madonna sharing a kiss with Britney and Xtina, also known as passing down the thrown and make Britney the official Queen of Pop.

The next few years Britney just did a little presenting, making the VMA's a lost less enjoyable to watch but in 2007 she had released her best album, in my eyes, Blackout, but was also going through a very hard time in her life displaying heartbreaking signs of depression, anxiety, and manic behavior. Nonetheless Britney did sign on to open the Video Music Awards. No one really knew what the outcome would be and what it was was not her best. As she performed "Gimme More" on the stage in Las Vegas going in and out of marking the choreography, we all knew that something was horribly wrong. This was not our Britney and America cried as well as Britney when it was all over. After her personal troubles very slowly recovered and are still coming together, she showed us her new and improved self as she opened with a skit then a speech on stage at the 2008 VMA's. She was bubbly and absolutely stunning. Britney was back and took home 3 moon men that year.
So what was your favorite performance? Or can you not pick one like me? No we will not see Britney this year at the show performing or presenting but hopefully next year something will be in the works. After Blackout she released Circus and did a wonderful world tour that I believe did bring her a lot of happiness. And that's all I want for Britney right now is just that. For her to be able to be free and happy. Unfortunately I do not believe she is either. She is still the Queen of Pop and will always be. Below you can watch 4 mini documentaries by MTV dedicated to Britney and all of her remarkable performances and appearances throughout the Video Music Awards. You can also watch all of her performances on http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/

Can't wait for a VMA "Femme Fatale" performance in 2011!

Hope you enjoy my darling fans!!!!
Peace & Britters,

She Had Two Loves and Lots of Shoes

All of my days and nights over the past month or so have all been thoughts of fabulous footwear. And when I say fabulous I am saying that when you walk into a room all eyes will be on the your gorgeous gams and luscious stilettos. For this piece I picked one of my favorite designers since I was little and pulled five of my favorite pairs to show you. I hope you enjoy! *Just a side note.....All of these shoes are all $240 or less. The designer is Badgley Mischka.

The Eavan Open Toed Pump with Crystal Encrusted Brooch. 4 1/4 inches. $200. (shown above in nude satin)

The Randee T-Strap Sandal with luxurious floral detailing. 4 1/2 inches. $200. (shown above in gold satin)
The Platinum Hart Sequined Pump. 4 1/2 inches. $190. (shown above in black/silver sequins)

The Elani Metallic Sandal with Mesh Oversized Bow. 4 1/4 inches. $190. (shown above in black satin w/black and gold bow)

The Tai Pump with Tiered Leather Ruffle Detail. 4 inches. $170. (shown above in ice)

All of the shoes shown above are available at selected Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Various Boutiques, and a handful of Online Stores. The most amazing thing about these shoes is that I actually discovered them at www.amazon.com. And further more while I was viewing I couldn't find my favorites in the color I wanted so I took the name and shoes name and googled. And I found them for even less expensive! And to top it off, all of this collection is available in about 4 different colors per shoe. Please let me know your favorites!

More about the designers.........In 1988, Mark Badgley and James Mischka, two Parsons grads and romantic partners, borrowed $250,000 from their families to realize their vision of glamorous, Old Hollywood–style gowns. Quick praise from heavyweights like Vogue poured in for the unique, often hand-beaded creations, but true Cinderella moments came in 1996, when both Winona Ryder and Teri Hatcher achieved red-carpet nirvana in Badgley Mischka gowns. They designed the second wedding dress worn by Charlotte York on Sex and the City and scored the Olsen twins as spokesmodels in 2006. Despite money woes, they found financial backing in parent companies like Escada in 1993 and Iconix in 2004. The boys have gone bridal in a big way, adding engagement rings and bridesmaid dresses to their successful wedding repertoire. They also do dressed-up daywear, sportswear, and lingerie, but embellished eveningwear is still their calling card.

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane

It's officially summer!!! Well to me I started in the beginning of April! And with summer comes lots of lovely vacations(tell your boss that you'll have a breakdown if you don't get at least 3-4 weeks off). Now since I am going to consider myself a professional traveler at the moment, I have a lot of wonderful travel tips that can help you our where ever you may be headed!

Being a very lucky gal, I have been fortunate to have last summer and this summer at my fingertips to do whatever I please(unless one my freelance jobs interrupts). Now if you are like me, I always say "if you going to go.....you might as well stay a while." With that being said you have to have much in order when leaving. (Having all of your bills in order, having the correct funds in your account to be taken out, having someone to feed your cat and someone to look after the dogs, and all those other "adult" things we must do.) You'll likely be with your friends or your significant other and that also helps in case you're having a panic while packing. "I just now I'm missing something" is always said when I am walking out the door but as soon as I get to the airport and am sitting in Starbucks I realize the only thing missing are my headphones for my iPhone(bought 2 pair on my way to Cali and another on my way home from Florida. And that's just this summer!) I'm also known for literally just picking up and going. Which requires a fast pack, and a fast flight purchase. Let's begin with packing! (BTW I hate/scared of driving so I almost always fly.)

I don't give a crap if it costs $25 to check my bags. They will be getting checked. A few times I have made the mistake of doing the carry on, which now means leaving it plane side before you get on. For some this may be fine but I have 2 bulging discs in my back that do not agree with carrying or wheeling luggage around. This is an important topic because you must know how much your airline is going to charge you both ways and add it into your flight fee. Also add in your extending parking funds if you plan on leaving your car at the airport. As my carry on I usually always do a wardrobe bag. Do you really want your cocktail dresses or suits rolled up in your suitcase. I don't think so, unless you plan on going to the dry cleaner to get everything steamed(which sometimes you still must do if you are attending a big event or wedding.) And what is in your suitcase and where?! Play around with it and you only have a 50 pound leeway so you must get it right. Here is what I do and it's done the job.
1. shoes on bottom. stilettos pit perfectly into the little crevices.
2. fill every empty spot on the bottom where your shoes don't hit with small objects. I do sunglasses(in their case of course), underwear, swimsuits, camera and mini cams, hair bows, and so on.
3. roll instead of fold all clothing
4. leave an empty hole for your make up bag
5. Cardigans on top lying flat with 1 fold
Now on the outside pockets.
1. hairdryer(if that doesn't fit then shove it on the inside side of suitcase)
2. plastic zip lock of ALL products (I had decided not to use a bag on my way home from LA and had to take half of it to the dry cleaner) Not a fun bill to pay!
3. jewelry in it's cases and bags
4. medications that if your luggage gets lost you can live without for a couple days. Sleeping, anxiety, and anything else that can cause withdrawal, KEEP IN YOUR PURSE.
5. Nail polishes

Alright I may have missed some things but that's ok. Hopefully you get the point. Keep your chap stick, sunglasses, glasses, headphones, and a pony tail holder near at all times! As for the phone charger, some pack, some keep it on them, it's up to you. And of course the packing items vary due to where you are headed. You're not going to bring a dress bag to Hilton Head for a week, unless you are attending a wedding while there. And you're not going to pack your swimsuits if you are headed to NYC, when the only two rooftop pools(although they are fab) that I can think right off the top of my head are Gansevoort and Soho House. So what I am trying to say to pack for the location.

Are you going to NYC, DC, or LA? Then as a tourist you should always have cash on hand. It was my 1st time to LA so I didn't worry about cash but I found it to be quite similar to NYC with all of the privately owned convenience stores that only except cash. Along with the amazing taco stands! They are to die! And NYC is the exact same with food and mag vendors, chinatown, gray's papaya(yumm), and convenience stores. Everywhere else now a days pretty much accepts cards. On top of the cash rule, you have to remember you will be walking a lot. And in the evening you will be fine dining and attending fabulous parties so you really must bring it all. LA is the only place where you can in front of Fred Segal and see the beach at the same time. Soo amazing!

Headed to the beach? Throw in all your flip flops, sundresses, coverups, swimwear, and sunscreen in your suitcase. Don't even bother with the stilettos or make up. This is your time to relax! And laying around watching DVD's and playing yatzee are actual priorities. Unless you're heading to South Beach, which you would want to follow the next instructions. Vegas huh? Pack glamorously. The pool parties there are even dress to impress. So throw on the skimpy bikini and stilettos and look glam. Same goes with the nightlife.

I will even give you an outline on what to bring if you are coming to Pittsburgh, PA for some reason. Now even though I am a tad over this town, I do love coming back to it when I have just been in a small town. You most likely will go see sme kind of sporting event. It's just what Pittsburgh does. The Strip District, Shadyside, and the Southside are wonderful for walking around, shopping, and restaurants. Getting a Primanti's Brother sandwich is a must. People actually travel here just to go to a Primanti's. And the nightlife can be very chill with bars and bands or luxurious with the many ultra lounges and nightclubs where you can celebrate with a private table or bed.

So that's that with that. Now as for out of the states, you may need to help me out. I, personally, love city vaca's. Lot's to do! But I also love chilling in a beach town where there is absolutly nothing to do but enjoy the weather and your company! Either way, I hope you all get to take a little time off and go somewhere you enjoy and can destress.

What are your favorite places to visit? Do you like to dive or fly? Beach or City?

Peace & Love

you turn every head but you don't see me

Short and sweet just wanted to say hi and hope everyone is well. Vamos RAFA!!!! Kicking some ass in the Australian Open! I'm off to nyc for the week to cause some trouble myself and hopefully kick some ass as well. I love the energy performers feed off of eachother. I can't wait to be around that again. I probably won't want to come home. Glad to be leaving after all the events that occurred and made me very sad this week. Trying to lift my spirits but last night I made a horribly morbid mixed cd. Totally made me cry all night. Set Fire to the Third Bar, Trouble, Hallellujah, Everybody Hurts, Something in the Way, Wonderwall(ryan adams version), Talk Show Host, and Strange and Beautiful. It's an awesom mix with amazing artists so if you feel like making a downer mix, I give this one props.

Well I'm going to try to get some shitty seats from a scalper for under $200 to go see lady gaga tomorrow night. She give me soo much energy and thats exactly what I need to start off my week. Lots of classes at my favorite studio-Broadway Dance Center, and being happy. Soooo Peace out loves and the blog will be back to normal when I return I promise. No more of this journal writing style stuff.

Treat yourself to something you love this week. I know I am.

Peace & Love
